Every type of insulin comprises of an :
- Onset (How fast insulin begins to lessen your blood sugar after injecting it in is the onset).
- Peak (The time when insulin is at its most effective is the peak).
- Duration time (The period of time it continues to be effective in reducing your blood sugar is the duration).
The times given in the chart are just approximates. Each individual’s onset, peak, and duration are never exactly the same. That is why you have to work out an insulin schedule that is right for you.
